The Space Technology Park, in collaboration with the University of Zielona Góra, invites you to a series of online expert meetings on space-related topics

As the coordinator of the ‘Space Systems Development – Materials and ICT Technologies’ Partnership, PTK is organising a series of ‘Let’s Talk’ webinars, during which we will discuss current and important issues relating to the space sector.

Participation in the webinars is free of charge.

The webinars will take place between May and June and are co-organised by the University of Zielona Góra, specifically the Faculty of Law and Economics at the University of Zielona Góra and the ‘Ius Gentium’ Academic Society.

A week before each webinar, we will publish detailed information, including the topic of the session, a profile of the speaker and a link to the event.

The first ‘Let’s Talk’ webinar will take place on Wednesday 6 May at 7.00 pm.

Do we really learn from our mistakes… or do we just carry them further and further — all the way into space? The first webinar in the ‘Let’s Talk’ series, during which we’ll look at space exploration from a completely different perspective.

‘First the Earth, now space – seriously, where else are we going to leave our rubbish?’

The starting point for the discussion will be the film *Don’t Look Up* – a much-talked-about production that takes a satirical look at our attitude towards science and global threats.

During the meeting, we will discuss, amongst other things:
• how the film was received around the world •
what the asteroid symbolises and how it relates to the environmental crisis•
what the Kessler effect is and what threats it poses to the future of space•
the role of fake news and social media in shaping
public opinion• why we ignore
scientific facts• the importance of environmental organisations and protests

This event is not just a lecture — it is a space for reflection and discussion on our responsibility for the future of the Earth and the cosmos.
