Cryptography and Countering Cyber Threats

The Cryptography and Cyber Threat Prevention Laboratory focuses on research into and the implementation of technologies that secure data exchange and protect systems against cyber-attacks. In the face of widespread internet access and the massive flow of information, the laboratory works on developing safeguards against the interception and misuse of data by unauthorised persons. It also offers tools to safeguard electromagnetic signals (e.g. GNSS) against interference and corruption.

The laboratory is equipped with advanced systems, such as:

Anti-interference antenna system: Novatel CRPA antennas (GAJT 410 ML, GAJT 710 ML) and the GAJT AE unit, which protect communication systems against external interference in both civilian and military applications.

Cyber-threat prevention platform: It consists of five key elements:

  1. A threat detection system supported by machine learning mechanisms, which automates the response to cyber threats.
  2. A privileged access management system that secures access to IT resources, including physical and virtual machines, network equipment and applications.
  3. Data backup software that ensures secure backups.
  4. A hyper-converged server platform for managing IT resources.
  5. A hardware cryptographic module for encrypting data and securing communications.

The laboratory offers advanced tools for protection against signal jamming and cyber-attacks, which can be implemented in both the civilian and military sectors.
