On 4 October 2024, the Space Technology Park – Research, Development and Innovation hosted a unique event – the Lubusz Space Night – organised by the Teacher Training Centre in Zielona Góra. It was a night full of scientific attractions that drew in both younger and older enthusiasts of science, technology, physics and astronomy.

Participants had the opportunity to take part in astronomy workshops, sessions on rockets and the launch of a balloon into the stratosphere. Additional attractions included, amongst others, building a rocket, constructing an electronic circuit, and tasks such as rescuing an astronaut from a drop in cabin pressure or lifting heavy objects without undue effort.

The aim of the event was to encourage children and young people to take an interest in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) and to showcase the fascinating aspects of physics and space. The event aimed to boost the popularity of science amongst young people and spark their curiosity to further develop their passions.

The Lubusz Space Night was organised as part of the ‘Skills Create Opportunities’ project – the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO), Component A ‘Economic Resilience and Competitiveness’, investment A3.1.1: ‘Support for the development of modern vocational education, higher education and lifelong learning’.
